I am not officially starting the blog until October (I need time to prepare!) but I thought I would give you the recipe for my favorite smoothie right now.
Jill's Favorite Smoothie
4-5 frozen blackberries
10 frozen blueberries
3 ice cubes
1 Tbs. flaxseed
1/4 cup orange juice (this is a guesstimate, I never actually measure)
1/4 cup milk and/or yogurt (also a guesstimate)
4-5 large fresh strawberries or frozen strawberries, thawed (leave them frozen if you like your smoothie really thick)
1 banana
I blend everything but the banana first (you have to or the banana won't fit), make sure the ice cubes are pretty much gone and then blend in the banana. This will be fairly liquidy (is that a word?!?!) because that is how I like my smoothies, but use frozen strawberries if you like yours thick! Now, obviously you can add or omit anything but this is the blend that I find tasty and I still get extra health benefits from - extra antioxidents from the blackberries and blueberries and omega-3's from the flaxseed (2 things I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to add to my diet - until now!). In the words of Rachael Ray and my 2 year old son, "Delish!"
A Magic Bullet recipe tried and reviewed everyday for a year! Send me your recipe if you think I should try it!

The Adventure
Hi! For an entire year starting in October 2010 I am going on a Magic Bullet adventure! For those who don't know, the Magic Bullet is a mini blending system. Go here to learn more. I received the Magic Bullet for Christmas 2009 and wasn't sure what to think of it, but I quickly became addicted to my morning smoothies. YUM! But, I have yet to use it for anything else. So, I decided to find out what else this baby can do and blog about it. I am going to try all the recipes in the manual, come up with some of my own ideas, and try a new smoothie recipe every Sunday - and give an honest reviews of it all. I am in no way being paid by the makers of Magic Bullet, I just thought this would be fun! Feel free to give me recipe suggestions and join me on my adventure!
